Manager of Marketing based in Tempus' Washington, DC head office.  Responsibilities include developing, implementing and tracking all Tempus marketing initiatives.  Position Tempus services to existing and prospective clients.  This “jack of all trades” position is a good fit for a marketing professional who can work across a wide range of marketing components (digital and traditional) to drive business performance and to enhance brand recognition.


  • Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities to both prospective and existing clients.
  • Run Email campaigns to promote Tempus products and improve client retention.
  • Oversee digital marketing initiatives including website, social media, SEO, key word advertising, and blog to drive inbound prospective clients to Tempus and to enhance client retention.
  • Research Trade shows and coordinate participation in relevant shows.
  • Manage marketing collateral material including design, production and distribution.
  • Write content as needed or source internal or external experts for specific content.
  • Help drive byline article publication in outside online/print business media.
  • Track all programs to monitor campaign ROI and submit reports for internal transparency.
  • Manage marketing budget.
  • Become the organization’s agent towards external parties such as media, stakeholders and potential clients and build strategic partnerships.


  • Proven 4 to 6 years total marketing experience including 1-2 years as a Marketing Director or equivalent
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Analytical and creative thinking
  • Exquisite written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Current on all online marketing techniques and best practices
  • Thorough knowledge of web analytics (google analytics, WebTrends etc.) and Google Adwords
  • Customer oriented approach to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to select and manage outside vendors to support marketing initiatives
  • Undergraduate BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, or other related course
